is it possible to slide the phone in top first. That way the bottom edge is exposed and we have the ability to charge or plug in headphones?

Yep, thought about that as well, and do it when I'm charging. I don't know if it'll play a part in stretching it out in some weird way, who knows.

I really had only two things I was looking for in a pouch for my GNex:

1) I have an Incipio NGP case, so it had to be big enough to accomodate that.
2) A carabiner (or something like that) to attach it to my beltloop, bag, etc.

After much searching, I ended up with the Krusell Luna 4XL pouch. I got it today and it works very nicely. The outer leather is soft and the inside is suede. The phone (and case) fit snugly, but it's not a fight to get it out. The grip of the NGP case helps keep it firmly inside. The phone goes all the way in with about 1/2" to spare at the top. I substituted my own carabiner for the included round one. Krusell also makes a 3XL version which looks like it would fit an uncased GNex perfectly.

Almost, but not quite. The NGP case is just a little too grippy, but that also means it doesn't slide out on its own.

I got the Sena slimcase Friday too. I agree with Aucousticgtarist. It's loosening up after 2+ days. Now when I slide it in the screen stays dark (not that I care) and usually stays dark when I slide it out (not that I care). When my hands are dry/cold it's hard to keep the case gripped when I push the phone up from the bottom. The other case I've had is Beyza. They have one where the 2 bottom edges of the phone are exposed, allowing you to push it out from there (but no protection from a drop). They don't have a GN model out yet. It's a way more rigid leather than the Sena. I had one for a BB 8900.

Sena Case in black, with extended battery. I also like it better with the bottom up, to give access to the headphone jack and charging port. It does fit tight and turns the screen on when it slides in, will be much better when it stretches out some. Overall I like the case and should serve its purpose.

the neoprene one the OP mentioned sounds awesome. I personally am looking for a leather one with a holster, I was really hoping the Sena Ultra Slim would have a belt clip part. Unfortunately, it doesn't

If anyone finds something like this please post!!! I'm using the Qmadix holster atm which is great but I have the extended battery and must have the back plate off to fit it...which bothers me a lot more than it prolly should haha

Ps- the Fortte Dual Design case is almost exactly what I'm looking for as far as clip, but I'd rather have an open sleeve like the Sena instead of the flap, and button thingy

Update: i ordered a fortte case after noticing the customization options and the fact that you can pick which clip you want. Fortte seems to be the way to go, ill update with pics when i receive it.
