Well, I see there are a few issues but I kind of expect that with new phones.

Anyway, I am wondering how exactly I can transfer my apps from my DX to my Nexus? I assume that as soon as I sign into Google Play, it will ask me to download all my apps, no? Can I pick and chose which ones I want?

Sorry for the rather newb-ish post, this is the first time I have stayed with an OS. Went from Flip phones to BB Storm to DX to now Nexus.

Mine automatically downloaded.
Apps are tied to your google account, not your phone, the exception being any side loaded apps, and possibly free apps you downloaded from the market.

i know when i installed a new rom, i know...not the same thing, it started to install all my previously installed apps. it didnt work right away so i restarted my phone, then they were not automatically downloading. my old apps were shown in the "not installed" part of the my apps section after that. so i mean i got to pick and choose what i installed even with the app backup.

Thanks guys. Phone came in today, and I guess Play will only recongnize the apps you paid for, not the free apps you have. Guess that works for me.

Next is to root my DX and turn it into a mini-tab. I also think I am one of the lucky ones with a Nexus that has poor reception. Greaaaaaaat...

just switched from dx to gnex. twice, actually: first with initial activation (had to call verizon for that), then with a custom rom. everything i had installed on the dx got installed on the gnex the first time. everything i had not deleted subsequently from the gnex got reinstalled the second time. easy.
