Nexus sound chip - crap

my beats studios sound just fine. In fact they sound better than when I plug them into my iPod touch. My klipsch earbuds sound great too. The nexus is just fine dude.

Besides barely driving my sony studio monitor headphones, the GNex overall volume is just too low .
Watching youtube videos , can barely hear them in a room with others, my Droid and wife's new Razr, their speakers are so much louder as is the Rezound .

The more i use the Razr ,i prefer it. ICS aside, the razr i hate to admit i prefer , display is more colorful especially at min brightness, battery life much better, speaker is ver loud, 3G speeds are always over 1000 kbps down with the Razr and always 400 to 700 kbps with the GNex. Battery life, camera , speaker, slower network speeds all make me want to return the GN .

I didnt think much at all of the Razr, glad my wife really wanted it as trying it compared to the GNex , it maked the GNex issues stand out .

I wont go with the Razr as i wont get a phone without a removeable battery . Guess will have keep waiting

Can I ask where the EQ is? I can only find sliders for balancing not frequency. Thanks.

For EQ options you need to buy the full Volume+ app. I believe its $1.68 or something. Great deal imo, you can tweak the settings to make your speaker sound better until an update addresses it.

While playing a song in the music player you can tap the three dots for the menu in the top right and you will find sound effects in the drop down menu. There are presets, 5-band equalizer, bass boost, and 3D simulation, but I don't know if it effects any other music players such as pandora.. Volume+ has more tweaks available for the audio and more presets. Plus, if you want the sound level out of the headphones to be louder you can boost that, but not really necessary.
