just a question. If verizon is gonna release the droid 4 on december 8th and leaks are coming out saying that internal training has or will start. And Supposedly the nexus is coming dec 8th or the 9th, why in hell has nexus training not started yet? I mean its only gonna have a new android operating software, you think verizon would want its employees to know a little more right? Maybe they have started and we don't know but the way info leaks, we WOULD have known by now.

They started training for the GN a couple weeks ago.

I could be wrong, but wasn't it leaked they got trained up a few weeks back? I also think there are training documents or something on the internal system for employees to use.

There's been TONS of reports about VZW training, some of which conflict with each other. I would say it's likely, from what we've seen leaked, that a good chunk of Verizon employees have done their training. I'm sure most will start sometime during the course of this week or early next when their devices are likely to arrive.

A little sidenote: Im not a vzw employee, so I cant speak to their training specifically. But oftentimes I get the sense that people read "training" and think some very formal, in-depth process.

In my experience, training is as simple as taking 5 to 20 minutes or so in the back room and clicking through a slideshow.

Yeah, I think VZW does like 5-10 minute videos

I have to say that at most Verizon stores I have been too(may not be true for all stores), many of the techs don't know that much about anything..and most of the phones are display models or not charged...whatever... you can't use them and if you can, the techs don't explain anything about the phone...they just hand it to you and stand there and says this is our newest release, or walk away...and please don't ask them too many questions because they start talking in circles. The store manager might be on top of things and actually have a working model of something while the rest have been trained, but I walk in there knowing more about any phone they have than they do.

So yeah, they've been to training already.

Plus with so many phones from different manufacturers released so close together how can anybody know enough? I'll bet the general public just picks a phone based on looks and price, they get it home THEN find out what it can do and since they don't know that much anyway they never realize what it Can't do.

The best thing is to do your own research and this forum seems to be the best place for that.
