No 3D scanning app

1. Tap Camera
2. Tap "Bixby Vision" at the top left
3. Slide the slider at the bottom from "Lens" to "Apps" (that's the trick)
4. Tap 3D Scanner to download

If that doesn't work, you can also find the APK here - https://twitter.com/mweinbachXDA/status/1163976329261453318?s=20

I'd like to know too. Coming from a Note 8 it's the only feature that might convince me to upgrade, but not if it's poorly implemented.

Honestly it is something new to me so I can't wait to try it. So hopefully we will like it.

Why does it suck?
I was able to get people to scan fine (although they look a little freaky looking). I was not able to get an object scanned. It kept telling me to try again. That's the main reason I want it (to go with my 3d printer). I'll keep playing with it though.

Made me laugh when you said people looked a little freaky looking lol. Hmm..maybe it needs an update. I hope it ends up working better for you. Thank you for responding.

It might just be that I tried it on my family and they are a little freaky looking to begin with

How easy is it to extract the printable file? What format?

It's very easy. You get them in a zip with 3 files. The model itself is an obj file. I can directly open that with simplify 3d or mesh mixer. Also not much editing needed, models are solid.
