Well that stinks for us with a carrier branded device who are still on 4.1.2. talk about a kick in the....

I think 4.3 coming for the GPE devices is a good sign. Carriers should have 4.3 very soon right?

Yeah it is odd that unlocked versions don't have it yet. Maybe HTC will let us know soon? /shrug.

HTC told me in an email that even though I have a factory unlocked one from htc.com that we here in the US STILL had to wait on our carrier for updates. which was news to me because I thought I'd be getting updates from HTC not waiting around for AT&T. I might have used my upgrade and paid just $200 instead of paying in full.

Well judging that Verizon is suppose to release there One in October with 4.3 We may not even get 4.2.2.

Someone posted on a forum the other day saying that Taptalk Es suppose to get theirs in late august early September. But it good be bs on taptalk.

But I work for T-Mobile and they have yet to say ****. And all we have seen are HTC reps here in the Richardson/Plano, Texas area.

Not sure why you would assume that because the GPE devices shipped with 4.2.2, which we still haven't seen, so I wouldn't think that would be a very reliable indicator of anything.

I have got the UK version, still no 4.2.2 till now, Can anybody explain why? I'm in Asia now, I don't know if having the UK version in Asia would delay the update.

Not if you go to the Verizon HTC One Forums... They are talking about this month release. Not sure where you read October or that it ships with 4.3.

I waited this long, and then just rooted and flashed 4.2.2 on my phone last week. Except for the starting screen when restarting the phone saying in red letters "this is a developer build. Do not distribute blah blah blah", I like the update. The menu bar's gone, and the small changes are great.

Maybe you're locked to your carrier? If you are, the carrier probably is delaying the release. If you're not, I remember reading about clearing cache somewhere and rechecking for update. I don't remember where I read it though., try this maybe?

I feel it is my right as a paying customer to receive these updates. I kept up with my part of the deal by purchasing HTC's premium product over Samsung, LG, Google, BlackBerry, and Apple. So it's only fair that HTC (hell let's throw AT&T in there too) keeps up with their end.

That makes sense, how is the 4.2.2.22.2.2.2.2222 update going so far?

Geeeez people. First off, HTC promised updates and we will get them, whether it's 4.2.2 or 4.3 remains to be seen. But nowhere in your contract does it state that you are "entitled" to these said updates. They just state that you will get them....and nowhere does it state "when" you will get these updates. These updates will come....have patience.

Stating things like "did I make a mistake moving from iphone 5 to the one" just because the update isn't here yet is asinine. I understand the frustration but come on...

"as a paying customer"...yeah and?? You will get the update and they will hold up their end, but just because you are a paying customer doesn't entitle you to anything....this goes for ALL manufacturers...not just HTC. You want updates...NOW!!, then get a nexus.

Sorry for the rant, just tired of people complaining that just because they bought a certain phone, they are entitled and if it's not on their phone when they want it, they bash the manufacturer for not being friendly, going back on promises, etc., and threatening to change phones if they don't get it....NOW!!!

/end rant

Only one troll in my pants was harmed in the making of this post....
