No 4g in Chicagoland?

Ok, now you guys are just rubbing it in.

I was on the phone with Sprint a while ago and they wanted to run some diags on my phone, unfortunately I didn't have the time to help them out, gonna try & get back in touch with them in a bit.

I played softball in Bolingbrook Thursday night and could not get 4G there. But in general, pretty good coverage around Chicago.

Chicagoland has 4G rocking and rolling. If you can't get a signal take the phone back!
Download the free Sensorly app and take a look at it's 4G coverage map for your area. These are real readings from other users. As you drive it maps whether you are getting 4G or not. At the same time it is also mapping 3G so you can see those dead zones too.

So far, the Sensorly maps come very close to what I am getting. But remember that Sprint is doing testing on towers and a tower may or may not be on when you drive by.

i live by (the old) romeoville pd and i get 1 sometimes 2 bars on 4g in my house and garage, if i go to the east end of the street i lose it yet at the west end its still 1-2 bars. even then its still way faster then my comcrap. give it time itll get better no doubt

Well, for those in Bolingbrook, South Naperville, Joliet, Norhtlake, La Grange, or Lombard, Sensorly shows that you may be in one of the 4G black holes.

Don't believe what the Sprint maps are telling you.

I had Sensorly on while driving in and around Chicago this weekend. Sprint is flat out misrepresenting coverage. The Stevenson, Eisenhower, Congress, Michigan Avenue, State Street, and so many other areas simply do not have 4G coverage. Let's get more data so that we have more complete maps to show Sprint.

The Chicagoland 4G coverage is not beefy like the Sprint maps claim. It is not even a skeleton.

i wonder why there is a big hole in hammond indiana??? whiting has it and munster but hammond is missing ... very odd especially with all the folks using the southshore trains

Picked up EVO Thu night @ the Bolingbrook BB. No 4g signal there and have only seen the 4g light up once since then (Fri at US Cellular for Sox game for about 10 seconds). Phone has been downtown, near west burbs, south side, etc, and nothing. Settings shows it is scanning for 4g signal but never changes from that state.

Anyone else see the same type of thing?
Take your phone back. I was just in that location, and they definitely have 4G. Every time I go into that best buy I play with the Evo, and every single time it has full 4G coverage.

Sensorly is showing several new towers have been turned on around Chicagoland including the Southwest suburbs. Where else are you seeing new 4G towers?
