I live across the street from 5G tower. My wife's iPhone 12 pro max has all bars and it shows 5G but my Note 20 ultra still showing 5Ge. Anyone one else having this problem?

That is probably why. I know with Verizon on the iPhone 12’s your old sim will work but to get 5G you need a new upgraded one. I’m betting that is why you aren’t getting it.

Edit: Mention I am on AT&T too...
Happened to me too. Have them reprogram a new sim. Having them fiddle with my old SIM didn't fix it and I by chance had a spare blank SIM at home.

FYI, you don't need a new sim on Verizon - I have the sim from my Note 9 in my unlocked N20U, and I see 5G all the time, even got on the mm wave 5G on the runway at Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta.

Not on unlimited. Idk what tier plan I'm on. The 5ge has been working so I never really checked into it.

No idea. But for me, I was using the same SIM that I had been using since the iPhone 6S? So one possibility is old type SIM even though I never heard of that with AT&T... did hear that with T-Mobile I believe.
Another possibility, and most likely, is they missed something in the programming of the SIM to the new phone and the phone tech you're working with is missing something to get it configured correctly or holding on to info that can't be cleared (opinion based on years of working phone support in a past life lol). Having them setup a new SIM from scratch took care of it for me.

You can call and find out which plans have 5g , the 5ge was long time ago and it was only enhanced 4g lte .

Yes, you have to make sure you upgraded to 5G capable plan which I think are their unlimited plans.
I had to let go of my grandfathered plan I had since my iPhone1 to get 5G. I forgot about that. OP mentioned other phones working on 5G so plan type wasn't a thought. Still took me a new SIM to take care of my issue while my daughters iPhone 12 Pro worked immediately.
