Since the Android 11 update my note 20 shows both and stays on. The only way I can get rid of the 5ge is if I turn mobile data off and then back on. I never had this issue before Android 11 though .

Even when you leave a building and out of wifi range?? Of course it hides it when you're in wifi but never seen it not show carrier signal once out in the road. Intersting.

Once I'm out of wifi range it goes
away and just shows 5ge, but once I
get back into wifi range both symbols are there. Right now I'm at home on wifi, but I still have the 5ge showing as well. Once I click the 5g off and on it goes away and only shows wifi.

I have plenty of times LTE/wifi show same time at moments and this been since s8 to now

I went online and looked at the 5g plans. Seems like I'll be paying a little more plus I might lose my employee discount if I switch. I might hold off a little while and just deal with the 5ge.

That's the ONLY reason I haven't done it either Sweetypie - I'd lose 17% (that I was allowed to keep even though I retired)!!! Would be SO not worth it!!!

I totally agree... I just turned on WiFi, Bluetooth and still showed 5Ge on mine with the signal strength, battery percentage and the battery symbol!

I have Android 11 on my S20 FE, and still don't see both. Other than the rare occasions I mentioned. I'll see every other connection type up there.

When you have your phone connected to Android Auto, I believe it will show both. It does on mine and it seems to be because it's using the wifi to connect Android Auto wirelessly but also using 5G data to stream, etc. I think you'll see both when both connections are active, in my experience.

This is mine on Wi-Fi. Then the alarm and Blokada turned off to be sure those icons aren't just truncating the row. Then Wi-Fi turned off.

Assuming by the time I post this, the images are in the order I'm thinking they are in. If not, I'll edit. (They're right).


BTW, this is how it's always been for me on all my devices.

This is mine on Wi-Fi. Then the alarm and Blokada turned off to be sure those icons aren't just truncating the row. Then Wi-Fi turned off.
