No Active Notification on the Nexus 5 like the Moto X?

AMOLED isn't a requirement for Motorola's Active Notifications but it does make the feature better.

The DROID MINI has an LCD screen (+ notification light) with Active Notifications.

It makes it that much more power efficient when you are using an amoled display as it has the ability to fire individual pixels.

I too am looking forward to the nexus 5, however I don't see it replacing the moto x as a daily device. Once you get used to active notifications / active display and touchless control you are spoiled and its hard to go back. I love my HTC one but still miss my moto x when I am using it

I agree - just wanted to point out that AMOLED isn't a requirement for Motorola's Active Notifications. It just makes it better.

good luck with that buddy

I know, seriously. 3x he's spammed that now. Guy is worse than those cheesy home made car dealer commercials, because at least they're semi coherent. I think he's jelly.

Well he's not just in the forums spamming/trolling. The guy has 6,500 posts, I think he would have been banned by now if that's all he did

Nexus 5 comes with a LCD screen that is 1080p as well, LCD panels have no other efficient ways to do active notifications so they resorted to a notification light up top :/

I use the Dynamic Notifications app on my n4 no battery hit at all, so I'd say it's efficient and the n4 doesn't even have the 5's more efficient chip

I dont think that dynamic notifications lets you do that but you can definitely use an app called gravity screen. It allows you to do that and I too find it extremely useful...
