No AOSP support for sprint galaxy nexus!

The folks who buy Nexus devices and want updates now should have done their research. Had they done that they would know updates for a cdma Nexus aren't going to come immediately. What is the point in being upset? And I will never understand why people cry about device updates and point the finger at a particular carrier. You all act like Sprint is the only carrier with delayed updates. People always need someone to blame. At one point it was Samsung. It's always something with you people. I guess I'm too nonchalant. As long as my phone works I'm good.

Quis, if you are ok with the update process the way it is, and if it works for you and your phone, good for you. (no sarcasm intended).
For me (and probably some other folks), it doesn't work. The timely updates (and lack of carrier bloat) are what makes a Nexus device stand apart from the non-Nexus device.
On their website, Sprint advertises the Nexus as "Unleash the genius of your Galaxy Nexus with a Pure Google, bloatware-free experience at Sprint".

"Pure google" is now 4.1.1 - so, Sprint's Nexus is now an outdated version of "pure google"
(and no, in my opinion, an old outdated version of Android doesn't count as "pure google" - else, what's stopping from from providing a google Galaxy nexus device with Android 1.6 on it? Sprint stopped selling the Nexus S for a reason - because it won't be upgraded officially to the latest Android OS)

With Nexus devices, Sprint and Verizon are the only carriers with delayed updates - and they are solely to blame. Not the manufacturer (i.e.. Samsung). For folks who use non-Nexus devices - yeah, they should be used to delays (not saying that they can't whine - of course those devices deserve updates too - but unlike a Nexus device, their phone manufacturer does not give them any assurance that their device will be updated - ever)

But back to what I was saying earlier, if you are fine with the update process for your phone, good for you. Enjoy!

Sprint Nexus S 4G is an officially supported AOSP device again btw.

But I agree that the fastest way to get updates directly from google is on a GSM Nexus, the CDMA variants generally have to wait (and with CDMA there is no way to truly have an unlocked phone that is not tied to a specific carrier). But for those that are impatient (like myself) there are ways to run 4.1.1 and it is working for me (MMS send/receive works fine) don't have LTE in my area to test, but there have been confirmations from some in areas with it that they've gotten LTE to work.

The only one I see crying here is you.

Are we in the same thread? On the same forum even? Or is that you implying you disagree and defending the complaints?

My point was I knew this the day I purchased my Galaxy Nexus. I purchased the Nexus S and we went through the same thing when ICS released. People are acting like this is new.

Sounds like you already experienced this earlier, so you expected this with the GNex. Do understand that there are folks who are joining Sprint for the first time, or are purchasing a CDMA Nexus device for the first time - and feel 'cheated' by this undisclosed information.

Whoops - just realized - Nexus S *is* scheduled to be updated (officially) to JB (eventually)
