Personally, I no longer compare Androids to iThings. I realized that they're kind of two separate markets.
I'm an Android guy, and always will be. I also use Linux as my primary home OS, and have for over ten years. This is because I prefer to tailor my devices to the way I work. And that's the difference.
Android/Linux people tailor their devices to suit the way they work.
iThing/Apple people tailor the way they work to suit their devices.
Sure, there's some overlap. The second group above can be happy with an Android and just use it out of the box, but the first group are generally not going to be happy with an iThing. I'm sure iThings are great products, but they're for a different crowd than the one I'm part of.
Anyway, that's my two cents on the matter.
