I know it isn't listed in the specs, but has anyone with AT&T happened to see the phone connected to Band 30 at all? I was ready to jump on one of these until the Pixel XL is back in stock, but then I noticed no Band 30, and I am on Band 30 a lot in my area now.

I am on AY&T and have not had any issues. How would I check to see if I am getting Band 30? Haven't done it before.

The same here. I just bought Mate 9 at BB. I am on ATT no issue with LTE. Got strong signal as the iPhone 7+. So, far I like it.

Not sure how to verify? But according to the Mate 9 radio supported specs, I don't see band 30 being listed. With that said, I would say no to answer your question.

No AT&T Band 30?

How about speed on LTE? Not having band 30 could lead to not having good LTE speeds.
Just did a non scientific speed test using iPhone 7+ and Mate 9 at the same location.

Speed test.net

Mate 9: 22Mbps down, 5Mbps up
iPhone 7+: 8Mbps down, 8Mbps up

I have no clue what band they used.

I did additional speed test for both at work just for fun:

Mate 9: 70Mbps down, 14Mbps up
iPhone 7+: 81Mbps down, 9Mbps up.

Band 30 is starting to be deployed in my area, Chicago, and it vastly improves speeds, mostly because it is not congested yet as older devices don't support it. I just can't see going to the Mate 9, when I have 32 GB Pixel which has Band 30, had to sell my Pixel XL 128GB, because I dinged the corner and my OCD was driving me nuts. Looking for an interim device until I can source another Pixel XL, The OnePlus 3T is also a possibility as it has Band 30 support.

Just looked and I don't find any US GSM carrier using band 30. Are you in the U.S.?

You can try an app like LTE discovery .

Some phones also allow you to see the screen with the LTE band but i think that needs root

So it is still being implemented

I am not sure the status of deployment but it is certainly deployed in some areas. If you are getting good speeds where you need then it won't matter. The purpose of b30 is to increase capacity. if you are getting very slow speeds and you are in an area that has b30 deployment on a phone that supports b30 then it could give you significantly faster speeds than without it.
