No Audio Calls / Proximity Sensor Issues Becoming A JOKE!

I saw a mention somewhere of a cache clearing trick (forget if it was here or Motorola's support forums). I downloaded the App Cache Cleaner and set it to clear cache every hour. I had the no sound problem every morning except this morning (installed the app yesterday). So far so good. :)

I received my Photon yesterday and used it extensively without a problem. I made many calls. I was hoping to be in the clear. I charged it overnight and at 8:30 went to hop on a conference call and experienced the silent call issue. Of course i had to reset the phone and be late to the call.

But were you only experiencing it in the morning every morning? If so, that wouldn't be the worst thing. I would just know to reset it every morning.

Or is it random?

And to those who have used this app cache cleaner, has it worked for everyone?

I have had mone for three days no issues yet. I will keep my fingers crossed love the phone so far. best battery life I have ever had (evo 4g non3d) before this phone

I don't have proximity issues, but have to reset EVERYTIME I make a call (receiving a call is laughable at this point). Will trading this Photon in for another Photon do anything to remotely remedy the situation?

I traded in mine yesterday. So far so good, but I don't get many calls, so I'm not sure. I am also curious if this will fix the problem.

I figured that even if it didn't fix the problem it was worth doing, as replacing phones is expensive for the carrier, so it's a very strong way to complain to the people with the pull to get if addressed.

My wife's phone fails with audio CONSTANTLY. This is crazy.
There's hardly ANYTHING running and she never paired any bluetooth device.

looks like the cache clearing is a no-go. Had to reboot this morning due to no audio.

Moto needs to fix the moPho and quick. Otherwise ppl are going to jump ship and say g'bye. I ditched motorola a few years back because I had purchased an H680 BT and after 3 months it wouldn't hold a charge and last only 10 minutes. So I called them for a warranty replacement and was told "it's not the BT and it's not your phone, it's user error". I told her to suck an egg. Since, I have not bought any moto products till now.

I have the problems people are facing here only when I use my BT. If I don't use it, my moPho is flawless. But as soon as I use it and turn it off for the day....it's like WW III !!

I'm getting the no audio calls too.. Now all my friends know to wait 5 minutes after they call me/I call them for me to call back because I'm restarting. The fact that there's no reboot button and the phone takes so long to reboot doesn't help either.

Hold the power, sound down, and camera buttons at the same time to reboot.

I guess Ive been fortunate to not have the audio issues, however I have had the proxy sensor issue since day 1. I would just pull the battery and all would work for a few hours/a day or so. KNOCK ON WOOD...since yesterday, its not done it a single time. All i did was update my profile. YES, I know. This has no direct affect on the sensor, but it fixed my problem!!

Replaced phone yesterday , new one has audio issue also -- I wonder if ise of the HD Dock and/or car dock relates to this issue

it happened to me today while I was on an important phone call.. I was talking for 5 mins and it kicked me off of the convo and wouldn't let me place another call until I rebooted!! Its really making me angry and I hope there is a fix coming soon. its getting old now!

Me and my wife both got a photon. We have had them for about a week with no issues. Now we both are having calling problems and proximity sensor issues. I have been holding out for a fix or update but loosing patients fast. Mine even started to freeze up with no response from any apps and sometimes the screen wont even come on, just the navigation keys light up. Going to exchange both and if there is no fix or update good bye photon. Its sad seems to be a great device....

I was having the same no audio calls issue, then I changed my network settings from Any CDMA (That was the default setting when I got the phone) to Automatic and I haven't had a problem since... It's been over a week. Try that and see if it helps...
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode

Thanks for the update. I did chang the nextwork to auto 3 days after getting them. It seems now that the issues are getting worse. No idea what to do about the screen freezing and or not even lighting up. All i can do is pull the battery and see how long it takes before it happens again....

I haven't experienced this issue with my device whatsoever. A few of my customers have and it was shortly resolved by either hard resetting the phone and or removing the SIM card. Moto and Sprint have a fix in the works soon. There is no announced OTA update but it wont be long.

Wow I think this is the longest thread I've ever started. How depressing.

I am very upset with the Sprint Store employees right now. They refuse to swap my phone for another because a "software update is coming". I called customer care and they tell me "they have to give you an exchange, it's the rule". But, it seems the the store management have been instructed to not replace the MoPho for these issues. I have been to multiple stores and gotten the same stupid response. I am ready to drop Sprint and go to (gasp!) Metro PCS...

450 min/month talk/text/data = $80 + $8 insurance + $8 taxes + $5 for the stupid "monthly spending limit plan". That's over $100 a month for what..poor customer service and and phone that doesn't work?
