No Audio Calls / Proximity Sensor Issues Becoming A JOKE!

I have read on other forums that removing the sim card does the trick - can anyone report positive results from doing this?

Since it happened twice to me yesterday, i removed the SIM and installed an app cache cleaner (apparently it "might" help, but who knows). My phone has worked fine since doing both, but it's only been about 24 hours.

I've gone almost 3 days prior to this without it happening (with SIM). So not sure yet if it fixed anything.

It would be hard to tell, as it takes a bunch of data/app use for the problem to occur , I believe I've read that at least one person has had the problem after doing something with the SIM card.

I just called Sprint and reported my replacement Photon has the same problem. The customer service person was uninformed about the issue, and said it was likely a speaker problem, and I need to take it into a repair center.

I doubt it's a speaker issue, as I every time it happens I restart my phone and then it works. Sounds like software/cache issue to me. Regardless of what type of issue it is, Sprint or Motorola needs to come up with a solution. There is obviously enough feedback to say this is a major defect and needs some attention.

Yes, many people have this problem -- do use is any of the docking stations ? (Car, HD) - I do and wonder if it's an issue

I don't use a docking station. I do have a handsfree bluetooth in my car that I tried to pair to.

Well add my phone to the list of affected phones. I haven't even had it 24 hours yet and I just had a phone call come in that was no audio.
Popping the battery out fixed it.

I'm going to test a theory I have. When this happens to you, are you coming from a timed out screen and have to swipe the unlock to answer?

I made and recieved a bunch of calls earlier and the one that I got the no audio issue on was the only one that I have gotten that I had to unlock to answer.

I am going to turn off display time out for a couple of days and see if it happens again. if it doesn't then I will turn it back on and see if it starts to happen again.

I don't seem to be having the proximity issue though.

I've not had the proximity issue on either Photon - I assume that's really a hardware problem ...
I've had both incoming and outgoing calls have audio failures

I doubt you need to pull the battery out - just power down / power up - takes 2-3 mins

i had the proximity issue twice today... how difficult is it to go to a sprint store and swap the phone for another one?

I have had my photon for 5 days. The first 3 days I had no problems. Then last night I was in the apple store and tried calling home and my wife answered but I couldn't hear her and she couldn't hear me. Tried the call 3 times, same thing. Held the power button down and rebooted and the call went through fine.

This afternoon I tried calling home again and same thing. Rebooted again and out was ok.

Very annoying.
