No contacts found?

When clicking the upper button, which is supposed to bring up contacts, I get the message "No contacts found. Add contacts to contacts app on phone."

However, I already have many contacts in the contacts app on my phone (Galaxy S5). Additionally, I have many of those starred or favorited, and they still aren't showing up on the watch.

Any ideas?

You can try re-synving your apps in the Android wear app to see if that works

Do you possibly have more than one Google/gmail account sync'd to your phone? And if so are your contacts on the account you sync'd to the watch?

SOLUTION:
I have been trying to figure this out for a couple days now and finally came across the issue. I believe it is not the Zenwatch as the issue.

On your phone, go to Settings>Applications>Application Manager>Android Wear>Permissions>and allow all of the permissions
This should have come up by default when I opened Android Wear for the first time but for some reason it did not and I was unnable to do phone calls, navigation, and contacts.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 and a Asus Zenwatch 1

I had similar issues with contacts. Tried everything everyone suggested everywhere and nothing. I have galaxy s7 edge and huawei smartwatch and found that if I went into app manager/contacts and switched on location it copied ALL contacts to watch as phone book and latest calls. Can disconnect and still all will be on watch when connected again. No requirement for cloud or apps. May work for you

It worked after giving various permissions and exporting all sim phone contacts to Gmail accounts, all 4 of mine. Then restarting zenwatch 3. It worked. Big sighs

Honestly I don't see any benefit of keeping contacts on your sim card at all. If the card dies or you lose your phone you're screwed.
