No data when I shut off wifi, what is the problem?

I'm having a big issue...whenever I am connected to wifi data is coming in just fine. No problems. But then say I leave the house and go out and shut off wifi, data is GONE even though in settings I make sure mobile data is enabled. What is going on here? This is a huge problem for me, it makes it so I am disconnected when away from wifi hotspots. Running 4.0.4.

I have the same problem, usually ends up with me rebooting the phone.

I was getting the issue in reverse, and noticed an issue with the primary DNS on WLAN being set to :::1 by default - it would show 8.8.8.8 if u clicked in the field, but unless manually typed in and forced to "stick", was having a very hard time staying connected (was still connected, just wouldn't pass any data) when switching between 3G/4G data and WLAN. I'm thinking the issues may be related.

I'm guessing that your in 4g area I only say that because when I was in a 4g area it did it and came up pretty quick unfortunately I'm live in 3g everywhere with in 30 mins is 4g iv been having this issue for 5 months and now they want to give me any android phone I want. The funny thing is the first phone they offered me was a freaking Droid charge, then a razr, I said why not the Maxx, no no can't do now maxx is a go also offered a rezound, bionc , I tell them if I wanted them phones I would have paid for them.
Why would I take a down grade in specs and performance makes no since.
