No default weather app/widget??

If you are in a coastal location (or want to know about a location) I find windguru pretty good, both via the website and the Android App.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at this in Google Play, and the version called WindGURU11, by a 3rd party dev, seemed more informative with a better looking presentation. But what I found most intriguing was finding a whole subset of apps focused on wind and surf conditions, like WindFreak, WindSpots, and Windfinder. If you're into wind (easy to do if you're simply walking outside!) or are a surfer/wind sport lover, these apps might be useful and convenient.

With the new Google Search update, you can place a Google Now widget on your home/lock-screen. I think it's pretty cool.

Yup, now you automatically can see the Google Now weather when waking up your device (assuming you haven't disabled the lock screen). Thanks for the reminder to try that out. I'm surprised none of my weather apps have lock screen widgets yet. I'm sure some will be added in future updates.

On a side note, I now have a couple dozen lock screen widgets available, though half are from my jetAudio Plus app (a little overkill!). But if you follow sports, I just added the lock screen widget from theScore. It works very well and looks nice. Of course, the whole lock screen widget thing seems a bit gimmicky, but if you got it, why not flaunt it?

Now, excuse me while I go to disable the pesky lock screen. My N7 rarely leaves the house, so a lock screen doesn?t make much sense for me.
