No Direct-Fill Ordering Tomorrow?

Personally I'm really hoping to preorder online. I'm not a big fan of my local Verizon corporate store, they horribly screwed up on my wife's droidx upgrade.

In general they are rather clueless.

Are you considering that Costco deal though? I'm considering it very fervently...I think I may want to do it, mostly because I know Costco will have great customer service, and I just don't like Verizon's customer service very much. And the docks may come in handy, plus the extra battery is a necessity for an LTE device, even if this has great battery life.
But before that came out, I was SOOOO ready to pre-order lol.

"All Channels" means In-store, Online and Telesales. So the Bionic will be launched just like the Droid, it will be available from "All Channels" at the same time on Sept. 8th. I wouldn't lose any sleep staying up and trying to order it before then.

We can't be completely sure until tomorrow can we? lol. If it was up for pre-order and I wanted to do that, I wouldn't stay up to do it, it wouldn't get processed until like noon anyways; if you ordered at 11 or noon you'd probably get it processed more quickly because that's usually when places process orders. And you should get processed throughout the day, they have people to do that.

The ad said September 8th, so I'm going to go down to Costco sometime next week and see if there's a list I can join or something lol. Or when the best time is to come in and grab one.

I just called vzw and asked if they were doing a presale the girl on the phone said she checked and there is no presale. she also mentioned that she would have know earlier like they did with the iphone.

From what they wrote on the link (because I read it), it means no pre-orders.

Actually droid-life says it "might" mean no pre orders. They didn't say its for sure.

I doubt costco will have it on the 8th. Target told me several weeks after verizon gets it.

Not sure if it will be the same for the bionic, but according to the article below the Droid 3 was to have direct fill orders on July 7th followed by a launch "in all channels" on July 14th. In looking on the net it appears it actually happened this way. Hope the Bionic follows suit.

It means you can't walk into a Verizon store and buy one of their shelf, but they can place the order for you and have it shipped to you. They've done this with several phones. The Incredible was one of them.

So it's looking like we're going to have to wait till September 8th to order the phone since Pre-Orders were not announced or any D-Fill dates (like droid 3 had on it's launch info). bummer

I dont think any of us know if there will be preorders since verizon as a whole has kept pretty much everyone in the dark except for the people that needed to know.. So it could be that a preorder will just show up in the systems for Verizon tonight.

Now a lot of us are sitting around waiting for that Costco deal too. It said September 8th, but I'm a bit skeptical. I think my best bet would be to go ask my local Costco next week. Otherwise, wait for Amazon to get it and see how they have it discounted, or just screw it all and get it at Verizon, hopefully with a NE2 discount.

I'm to the point of not caring about that costco deal since i have to drive nearly 7-8 hrs to the closest one which in a '05 F-150 aint cheap. THEN buy a membership, to get $150 in free accessories? I think the cost of getting there and home and a membership I will only use once will outweigh the bundle. Might as well just pay for it from VZW so I am looking to preorder if the option is available or be first in line at my store (hopefully my friend who works there can hold onto one for me like he did the D3 for my wife).

Looks like I'm going to costco! AC has on the homepage that they're getting on the 8th. Combine that plus the package deal and I'm there.

I plan to drop by this weekend and find out more and see what, if anything, I can pre-arrange.

I'm live chatting with a Verizon rep right now about that, I'll post what he said here in a minute. And at this point he said that they will have pre-orders, but then changed his story halfway through that he "thinks" they will have pre-orders. I think he's hiding something and accidentally jumped the gun and told me they'll have pre-orders up.
Update: I'm squeezing as much information as I possibly can out of this guy lol. And he's dropping everything, you all will like this conversation.
