No Emoji!

My s4 is running 4.4.2 kit Kat. I can receive the emojis, I seem them all over Facebook but I don't have them. I've searched Google, ive had people look at my phone but my emojis are no where. I only have the "insert smiley" option. Any help would be great

Are you using a custom font by any chance? This being a Samsung device I know it has that option, and since emoji are basically a part of the font package, that might be what it's throwing it off.

Nope, I'm using my default one. I tried changing it and seeing if that worked but nothing

What do you see if you try to read any messages with emoji?

I can see them just fine. I get the cats and hearts and all the different little characters

So it's just your keyboard that doesn't display them? If so, have you tried switching keyboards? Some keyboards don't have emoji capability. SwiftKey only got them a few months ago, for instance.

I have swype and I tried turning it off but nothing was there!

Hummm... that's odd. On the Samsung stock keyboard, when you long-press the button that's to the left of the space bar, is the Smiley option there? If so, what do you see when you select it?

No smiley option. I only have the green alien smileys. And there's only text, options, keyboard, camera

camera? I'm sorry, can you post a picture of that pop up? It doesn't sound AT ALL to what the stock keyboard should have...

You could also try a different keyboard. I know SwiftKey (which is now free) has emojis.

Emotional is hidden but very easy to get to.

When looking at the keyboard, hold down the microphone button and a menu pulls up. Select the happy face and the emotional menu pops up. Good luck

Same here. Long press mic button no smiley option.
