No flash got you down? Try this fix

Not for watching TV shows in ABC.com

Download the Aurora build - just checked and ABC.com videos work even using the full screen button.

I installed these apks and Flash works ok. Vimeo or some Daily Motion videos don't work. Is that a different plug-in? Kind of bummed about this. This is the exact same reason we (Android users) hated the iPhone browser. It feels crippled to me and sucks that we have to go through hoops just to play what old android devices can play.

I now have flash working on my nexus 7 and am on 4.1 stock. Should I update to stock 4.1.1 cause every few minutes I get a System update telling me to update. But if I update to 4.1.1 stock will I be still able to use flash and is there any way to turn off the system update thanks

Just wanted to mention that i installed the firefox beta from the play store and everything works great.

Abridged Version for those that want a less wordy explanation:

1) Obtain an older flash .apk, a newer flash .apk, and the firefox .apk. All of which can be snagged from the internet, your phoneu

Fantastic, followed your instructions and flash is now running in firefox beta (beta for nexus 7 is downloadable from play store.)
Thank you :)

The file manager HD won't allow me to install the apk, only the cancel button seems to be responsive. Anyone have any clues how to go about this? Totally new to android.

Never mind, managed to get it installed by closing all the apps I had running in the bg, flash is working now so thanks anyways :)

Flash is working on 4.1.1 by using this walkthrough on my nexus 7 :)

I downloaded the flash apk, tried to get an old dolphin, etc, but no luck. I found mozilla beta at the play store, downloaded and flash is playing fine with nothing else done. Worth a try....

I've just got my Nexus7 and was initially let down by the lack of flash support , not only on the browser apps , but also missing on apps like Veetle and iPlayer .

This fix worked great for me as I can now view virtually all the missing apps ( which require flash ) via Firefox14 ( https://rapidshare.com/files/1241304126/Firefox_14_Android.apk ) .

Dolphin HD didn't work for me , didn't try too hard though :-(

Once registered , the flash links enclosed earlier worked a treat .

I really , really like this tab , I prefer 7 inch tabs as they fit neatly in my pocket and use my phone or laptop for most other functions . I just want things to work and so far this has virtually ticked all my boxes .

PS. Not done a full test yet , need to do a battery check , and usb OTG

SMP....THANK YOU!!!!! I am a bit of an idiot with this stuff, but your instructions worked perfectly. Works great with FF Beta!!!!!:D:D:D

I was watching a flash video with Aurora just fine and then I noticed an update available. I installed it. Big mistake. Now no video! I'll have to find an old beta now :-(
