No Going Back to EVO After Epic Super Amoled

I am still on the fence here, the Epic's screen is certainly gorgeous no dispute there, but I am noticing a disturbing number of arguably small issues with the Epic not present on the Evo.

We've got both and I think they are both great, but if I could only have one it would still be the Evo.

I agree with you on this one.

Fortunately I don't have to choose and problably keep the Epic anyway to see how thing go when it gets updated. Will likely go back to the Evo in the next couple of weeks as I have less issues than with the Epic at this time.

I was on the fence this past Saturday when I got my third Epic. The rep brought out an EVO and an Epic. I thought long and hard about the decision before I agreed upon the Epic again. The screen resolution was something that I was won over with but the constant issues with the touch keys kinda pushed me back to the EVO. Even tho I miss Sense UI and its taking a while to get used to TouchWiz I am grasping it a lot better. The fact that practically everyone around the city is using EVO's now was the main reason I stayed put with the Epic. The camera was another reason and I am anxious to see how this Samsung Media Hub is going to work out.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Epic and the screen. However at the end of the day I need more than just a nice looking screen. I know most of these small issues will be resolved with time. At this time, I will just seat tightly and keep my Epic.

The issues are pretty minor, and not as widespread as people think they are. Also the evo has a few months on the market when compared to the epic. Give the phone some time and it will be...well epic like its slab cousin the evo. Both are great phones, but I think alot of people are short changing the epic too often and too soon. Not that Im referring to anyone in this thread, but it seems like alot of the complaints are from those who seem to buy an epic just to complain and go back to an evo. I wonder if they 1) even have an epic or 2) if these problems were on the evo would they be singing the same tune? But then again that may be the conspiracy theorist in me...

The keyboard's been a savior for me. I would never go EVO again, nor iPhone, nor any touchscreen only phone UNTIL they can make a better keyboard for phones.

Is not Epic bashing sphinxx, and I do have both phones right now and really like them both.

All new phones have issues and that is a fact that also involves the Epic; ignoring those issues will not make them go away. The Evo forums were blistering with reports and discussions of all the issues we found when the phone came out, confirmed issues were made known to Sprint/HTC, some were solved through official firmware updates, others that remained were addressed with users work around and custom ROMs.

Of all people I thought someone like you who has used so many different smartphones over the years would realize this fact and understand how important it has been getting to the root of the issues so solutions can be developed for those particular phones - especially with a company such as Palm.

If it makes you feel better, the link below will take you to the current list of post-Froyo Evo issues.
