no idea what the beep is..

Okay I'm listening to mp3 on the phone.. and then the music goes out.. the phone makes this beeping tone twice.. Each tone has probably 3 beeps of various notes. I have no idea what it's for. No new notification, no new email and no new text. In fact, this ring type is not used for any other notifications..

Any idea what it is? I know my info is pretty vague but are there any non-notification beeps that occur that might not be obvious what they are for?

I know the music app will skip a little when email/txt are received or when doing background sync or for a notification. Have not heard any beeping sounds though.

Right.. when a legitimate notification is fired, the music app will stop playing music and alert the user. However in this case, it was a beeping tone not assigned to any known notification and nothing was registered in the notification bar.

This has occured several time already, the other day, I was streaming online radio and it the beeps occurred a few times over the course of a few hours.

Not sure what beep you're referring to specifically, but maybe it's the "signal" beep. Mine makes a beep every time I switch between Sprint and roaming. The times you noticed it, was your signal stable strong?

My signal is consistently strong at my current location. WIFI is off. 4G is off.

To make sure is not your 3G radio, why don't you try streaming via wifi and see if it continues.

I also get the beep and the phone is in my case not running any apps its odd. I thought I was hearing things at first lol.

Yeah I heard these beeps also.

At first it was when I was in Dolphin browsing the internet with nothing else open and i heard the beeps.

Next time it was in the middle of a game.

Not sure what it is..... I like to pretend its my Epic talking to me!

Did as you suggested and yes, this is the sound I'm hearing. I've never noticed my signal strength bottom out, so this is puzzling. I will have to check that the next time I hear it.

Anyone know where to turn off the signal beeps? Kinda annoying when it's on my nightstand going in and out of roaming.
