Google has moved Fi from "project" status. Yesterday brought us a site redesign and announcement that any phone will work but with reduced features (network switching is still reserved for fully-certified devices). For those devices, T-Mobile is the network they will connect to, so that carrier would need to be strong in your area. This is effectively the same as folks were doing previously - activating service on a supported device then moving the SIM to a different phone - except it's now supported to just activate the SIM in any device. The cost is the same, it ends up being a decent deal for people that don't use much data - I couldn't tell you the last time my bill was over $30 including taxes.

This post is not intended as a dumping ground for referral codes, and I will report any posts in this thread offering one publicly. I have 7 of my own referrals left (Fi users only get 10) and send them via PM only, for serious inquiries. Benefits of using a referral - we each get bill credit after the new member starts their second month of service, your first 2 months are effectively BOGO for the base service.

Just left Verizon after 10+ years. Got the pixel 3xl on the black Friday deal. Loving it so far. My bill is 44 dollars for the month. I use very little data, always on wifi.

I left Verizon as well for Google Fi. I have been really cognizant of my data usage so far. I have gone from using 2-3 GBs per day to .4 GB this week. I'm hoping that this saves me a lot of cash.
