Decided to take the plunge on the D855 European model for the lady, and have found out that I would only get 3g performance as the lte bands the European model runs on are Not compatible on the big three Canadian carriers...now have to return the phone!

It really drives me nuts the way carriers have this control over us. It is incredibly frustrating. I thought I would be able to get a g3 with Qi charging capabilities...which Canadian g3 models don't have, but the I lose LTE in the process!! Absolutely ridiculous!!

Just buy a Qi back from eBay or a qi sticker and you're all set.
Then you're Canadian model will have Wireless capabilities.

The Canadian model does not support Qi standard. It is the same as the AT&T version, which runs on the PMA standard.

I lost $11 buying the LG Qi cover on eBay.

As for carriers having too much control, this with LG G3 is the worst I've seen. Its depressing. :(
