No more 2-week early upgrade on Sprint

So I'm guessing the phone is like $149.99, then a $50 rebate that's mail-in most likely...so you pay the $149 to begin with, plus the $50 fee to upgrade..

Friend of mine Went to a sprint corporate store last week and his update is in October and they gave it to him. They are also giving it to me this week 17 days early.

You aren't paying the $50 for the buyout in store. It comes on your next bill. And yes, you are paying the $149.99 in store for the GNexus. Then you have the $50 mail in rebate. In my store we do all the rebate stuff for the customer so all they have to do is put it in the usps box right out side of the store. We even stamp the envelope for the person.

Did a buy out yesterday. Cost 50 extra. They gave me 100 for my evo 3d so I ended up paying 150 for my new evo 4g. The white one is so nice looking.

So, how far away does the buyout have to be in order to take advantage of that?

My wife has a full-upgrade coming as of Nov 1st...and the other line on my account has a full upgrade on Dec 1 (both of this year)..so I'm only a couple of months out on upgrades for all of my phones...
Wondering if I could do the buyout on another line as well as mine (actually, i'm ready to upgrade now..i'm just checking on the best prices and seeing where I want to go for my Gnex..I called yesterday and had them reset my upgrade date..so I can now go get the full 2-year deal. I just need to find the best place to get it). But my wife is kinda jealous that I"m getting a new phone, and she won't be able to for another couple months...so I wanted to ask about doing this to her line as well..

I have 4 other lines with upgrades coming through out the next year. The guy at my store said I could do it with all of them.

You can do the buyout then. If it's available on your account anyways. You can do it 13 months after your last upgrade.

I just did it on my line and I last upgraded last year June. No regrets.

I purchased the upgrade for they line I'm on right now, paid fifty bucks with the upgrade coming due normally as of August 1. I asked today about upgrading my wife, she is due for hers on November 1, they said as of today it would cost me $100. But she said it could drop to $50 at any time and just you check back with them to see.

Sprint is very inconsistent with this program. I have several lines not due for upgrade for 4,6,7 months and I was told after I upgraded 2 days ago that I could do the same thing with all my other lines right now, 50 bucks.

I wonder why they don't have a period of time set, like 2 month early upgrade is 50 bucks or something...

I can basically get any new phone I want for the next year 4 more times,, counting the trade in value of the phone I would be trading in starting with this evo lte I'm talking like 150 or less for new one. I am excited about that. If something blows me away a month from now or 7 months from now I'll easily pull the trigger.

Is there any truth that when you do the buyout you have to give up your current phone to get a new one or are you able to keep it?

Actually yes there is...but only for an account with more than just one line on it.

Let's say I do the $50 buyout on line 12345. I get a new phone. I get to keep the phone that I replace on line 12345.

Now, in 3 weeks, I want to do the buyout on line 67890. I pay the $50 and upgrade 67890. I can't opt to keep that phone, I MUST enter the Sprint Buyback program with that phone and let them keep it. This goes for any lines above the first line on the account.

So the first one is a keeper...after that you have to give them your old one. I have 3 phones on my account, so I don't really care if they want those slow-ass Optimus S phones back.

Very interesting, because I went to a Sprint Corp. store yesterday and was told that I would have to give them my current phone in order to get a new one. There's 2 lines on the account but only the first line will be upgraded through the buyout.

So the phone on the first line I would be able too keep, its that correct?
