No New Awesome Android Phones for Sprint

Let's face it, if you're a Sprint customer like me then you are probably sick and frustrated of hearing almost everyday how a new awesome Android phone is coming out on Verizon.

Sprint customers have heard nothing but crickets since the GS2 and how Sprint dumped too much money in the iPhone deal.

This is getting ridiculous!

Sprint knows smart people like us won't be buying any high end phone until LTE.

For myself, I wish they would at least leak a few hints as to what is coming....and start releasing high-end phones with LTE even though they aren't rolled out network-wise yet. I would pickup a GNex if it at least had the *promise* of the new 4G LTE network access in the future. Right now, it is just depressing thinking about the potential of not upgrading until mid 2012.

right there with you - seeing these ridiculous spec phones like the Rezound and now the Sensation XE make me wonder what's up with Sprint.

Maybe it's the pending LTE rollout, but after seeing Sprint take the lead with the OG Evo and then the Evo3D - it's sad to see not much else (photon? Meh.... SGII? blech) that makes me wish my upgrade was sooner. As it is, I'm hoping March 2012 sees me upgrading to something that blows even these newest superphones out of the water!

Sprint getting ridiculous? You mean they weren't already?

They are no more ridiculous then the other carriers. But the WiMax/LTE and iPhone investment makes them stand out from all the other usual carrier craziness.

I like unlimited data like the next guy but if you don't have any phones for me to use. It kinda defeats the purpose of being the "Unlimited Data" carrier.

Now of course they could have some plans but unless I hear some good news soon I'm jumping ship and I've been with them for over 20 years.

People need to stop trying to attain permanent happiness with...a phone.

These devices come and go. They're all sooooo good that new stuff has become anti-climactic. This is not a bad thing.

Try getting some fresh air. Spend time with other humans. Go for a drive. Take a walk. Plant a tree.

There's more to life than smartphones.

Who said permanent? I just want happiness after my 30 day return window closes...

I'm just a tech geek who hopes the shift to LTE means my unlimited data and 4G is actually useable in my area and wants a phone to take best advantage of it.

I get that but there's no law that says you MUST upgrade as soon as you become eligible.

Off topic but does tmobile suck as bad as sprint? I'm sick of sprints bs and the only reason I'm staying is for the unlimited data.

Obviously it all depends on where you're at, but I've always been SUPER happy over at T-Mobile. But as always, to each his (or her) own :)

No point in having unlimited data if your speeds suck ;)

This is true. However there is also no point in having superfast speeds if you can only use a little bit of it or pay big bucks in overage charges. I can use as much as 300mb in one day (lot of time on the road as a passanger) so being limited to just a few gb per month is not going to work.

Was thinking about tmobile as an option but I'm not sure who has worst coverage tmobile or sprint. Besidem my speeds are not terrible with sprint they are very usable in NJ/NY area but coverage is spotty in south jersey and PA. I will just have to make due until and or if vzw gets an unlimited plan again.

I wouldn't hold your breath for Verizon to offer unlimited data plans again when they have the opportunity to make some serious money off of their customers.

My fellow Sprint subscribers, how easily we forget; Which carrier brought to us the first 4G device with a 4"x 3" screen. Some of the best high end devices...and will continue to bring us - not only the best smartphones, but continue giving us "unlimited data" to support these high-end (consuming) data devices. Of course we want the best of everything, which includes the most awesome devices made. The next device or devices to be announced by Sprint, is not just going to be any announcement, but something that will totally blow your mind. Sometimes its not the worst thing to actually make your customers wonder what will they (Sprint) come out with next. I still have my EVO 4G, Sprint first and awesome SMARTPHONE... and now sporting its predecessor - EVO 3D, both phones are totally cool - so, personally, I can wait until Sprint announces their Next new DEVICE(S).

Didnt sprint take away unlimited data on data cards/netbooks/tablets just recently. I have a feeling that they are going to take it away on smartphones too after 4g lte is rolled out.

Well if you say so then I guess it has to be true.

Remember the world was supposed to end at least twice this year, so stay paranoid after all everyone is out to get you.

its not paranoia it's more so how sprint has been responding to questions about how long they plan on keeping the unlimited data plan going. Saying things like ?One of the beauties of carrying the iPhone is it extends the period of time and increases the likelihood of us maintaining unlimited data longer because it uses our network so efficiently,?. Granted it would be stupid of them to drop it since it's the only good thing they have right now. statements like that from hesse just doesnt make me feel like unlimited data on sprint is here to stay much longer.

How many ads do you see running from sprint that's boasting that the iphone as having unlimited data on sprint. From a business standpoint they should be all over that!

Most people on average use about 2GB a month give or take. imo, if you use a lot of data, you should pay up for it via higher prices. I'm all up for unlimited data, but when people abuse it by using their smartphone for a home connection and congest the network, yeah, that becomes a problem. Course, Verizon is a ripoff, we all know that.

I guess it all boils down to which one works the best. Sprint's data speeds overall and level of service is absolutely horrible. I rather pay less for Tmobile with the same level of Sprint service than pay more for Sprint service and get less in return.

Lol, this is laughably bad my friend. Sprint was so much in a hurry to be the "first" 4G provider that they ended up being dead last. Lol, AT&T and Verizon are beating them with LTE and Tmobile's quasi 4G is 10x better than the crap they call WiMAX, which can barely penetrate buildings.

And no point in having unlimited data with crap speeds.
