No Nexus Announcement but White Razr Officially Announced...

Also, most reps are not lying to you. This is how it works. The document I posted is from OMM, which is Verizon's marketing department for corporate. OMM sends out emails to select OMM-specified reps in each store, but also has an internal system accessible only by these designated reps. Each store has to keep up with the various signage/poster/floorset/display changes and to do this they assign ONE rep per store to the OMM duties. My boyfriend is the rep in his store who is assigned. His store is an A store and is the largest volume store in our district. He has 22+ reps in his store. NONE of them get the emails he gets except him. Not even his managers. This is why 99% of reps AND managers are clueless. Only the OMM rep has release information ahead of time.

So if you call or go in to a store and get anyone but the OMM rep, you'll get inaccurate information. If you do get the OMM rep, he/she may lie or withhold information. Most reps, however, simply know nothing until the day of. Which is why it's so funny to me to watch you people call up your VZW stores or waste your time driving to them. No one is going to tell you anything. If they do, it's inaccurate. The reps saying sorry, no release this week or next have NO CLUE what is going on. I GUARANTEE IT. Most know nothing, and the one per store who does will not tell you anything. Sorry.

Further, the OMM rep has unique passwords/logins to access OMM that CANNOT be shared, so even if he wanted, other reps are not allowed to just go look up information in OMM. FYI, OMM is more up to date than any other internal, proprietary system.

There. Now you know what I know. Well, minus a few things.

Incidentally, verizonwireless.com is not selling the white Razr yet, for delivery on release day tomorrow. And has anyone heard that white Razrs are in stock at any stores? I haven't heard any such thing.

The store my partner works at got the White RAZRs in yesterday. They go on sale tomorrow.

Further, if you ask a rep to check information internally for you, he will check Infomanager. Infomanager is always outdated compared to OMM. Another reason why OMM -> Infomanager. My source is OMM. It is credible.

I worked at a corporate A level store, and the "top secret" roles you are describing is not accurrate at all. There ar4e "SME'S" picked at the stores, but the information is also accessible by managers, and these reps are encouraged to share the info at store meetings.

And what are you willing to offer if you are wrong on the release date tomorrow?

RAZR (black) announced by VZW on 10-18
RAZR (black) available for pre-order on 10-27 (6 days later)

Rezound announced by VZW on 11-03
Rezound available on 11-14 (11 days later)

RAZR (white) announce by VZW on 12-14
RAZR (white available on 12-15 (1 day later)

NEXUS announced by VZW on 10-21
NEXUS available on ????? (almost 2 months later...)

It's still not as bad as the thunderbolt I guess (Jan 6 - March 17) but it's getting close. Plus the thunderbolt was the first LTE phone so it didn't make sense to release it before LTE was available.

Things are different now. One OMM person.

JFMFT,

Thank you very much for posting the launch information.

I don't think anyone in this thread doubts the validity or that tomorrow isn't the currently planned launch date. People are worried that things could delay the launch at the 11th hour and don't want to get their hopes too high due to the previous delays on these internal launch dates. Don't take people's fear that a last minute issue could cause a delay as a personal attacks against you or you're spouse's credibility.

Again, thanks. Hopefully we will all be sharing our first experiences with our new GNex phones tomorrow.

I was a VZW last night the manager had one activated as his own and allowed me to play with it. he told me come back Thursday morning

JFMFT,

We don't doubt you, your source, your spouse, your dog, etc.. We have no faith in Verizon.

Don't take it personal.

Once Google releases source code I will believe. They released source for GSM version the day before the phone released. I would imagine the same would hold true for the LTE version. We shall see.

Tomorrow is a go. Thanks JFMFT. Regional manager at corporate store GAVE me a TBolt to use last Friday when I told him I would rent a RAZR. He just told me to come back tomorrow.

THE WHITE RAZR!! It's sooo beauuutiful.

I will get to the store first thing tomorrow, This is the phone I have wanted all along!!

/s

LOL

I see you're in Dallas. have you checked with any of the DFW area stores? I've called Mesquite and Rockwall, both giving me the standard "we don't have any information on a release date"

I haven't bothered. There are a lot of reseller and premium stores around, but the only Corporate store close to me is the one at Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville. I may try that location on the way home tomorrow from work. Seeing as we're right here at Corporate Central we'll probably get the corporate line on just about any inquiries, most likely. So, haven't wasted my time. I'll get a device when I get it, no rush.

I'm not holding out for any $100-off love from them, either... lol

I'm getting tired of all of these people saying "until I see {insert line}, I won't believe it". Thats fine and no one is telling you to get your hopes up or believe any speculation. I for one, come to the forums to try and get a positive feeling about any speculation that puts this phone in my hands ASAP. Are we disappointed when it fails or is inaccurate? Absolutely. But you pick your shattered hopes up and re-assemble them to wait and hope for the next date. JMFT (and others who contribute) thank you for actually providing information instead of having a negative outlook or writing one-liners about past failed launch dates. Yes, yes, yes....we ALLLLLLL know it didn't come out on the 9th. We got over that so how bout we try to stay positive about tomorrow instead of looking for reasons to whine.
