If you really want the latest OS update you can manually flash it. However, if you're having problems with freezing, etc, you might want to solve that issue before introducing a new variable. I'd suggest booting into Safe mode and running that way for awhile - if your problems go away then you have one or more 3rd party applications causing your grief.
Although I got Oreo with my brand new 6p I didn't get the nougat 7.1.1 update to my axon 7 mini so I finally had to manually install it. It wasn't that bad but I wondered the same thing you do. Why didn't I automatically get my nougat in my case update. I still don't know why I never got it and I've received other update to my axon since then too that were automatic so I know how you feel there. But there must be some reason why it wasn't pushed? I mean you are supposed to receive updates via OTA. I know its simple, but it almost seems like I'm not supposed to have it if not sent by OTA.
I haven't received Oreo either and I'm on Project Fi, and I only have the August Security update :-(
Since you're on Fi you have an 'in' with Google. Contact their customer support through the Settings application and they should help you, or at least give you a satisfactory answer as to why you're not getting the latest Security Update.I haven't received Oreo either and I'm on Project Fi, and I only have the August Security update :-(
Load the update manually. If you use the OTA build it won't wipe your data.Any other ideas other than a factory reset?

I am on T-Mobile and still have not gotten OREO OTA on my 6P. I also never received the September security update, so I am still running on the August security update. I shouldn't have to side load any update. I have never participated or signed up for any Beta program either. My feeling is if it isn't pushed to me there must be a reason for it.
Does anyone have any insight on this?
I've been having the same problem with service through Fi while using T-Mobile network. I downloaded an app that let me force my 6P onto the Sprint network and Oreo was available immediately plus was able to get security patches as well. Of course only works if you have Fi.
