No Pixel Watch? I am sad :(

Note 9 is something that piques my interest as well as Google's Pixel 3 phones seem like they're not impressive at all.

Never had a Galaxy smartwatch, so it may be something is consider.
I love my Gear S3 .... It is awesome. Even works with the pixel.

I hate wearing watches, rings, and hats.
For me there's no disappointment whatsoever.
Bring on my new Pixel 3 XL 128!
:)

That's a pity and puts a doubt on whether I'll buy the Pixel 3 now too, as I was thinking of the set.

Note 9 and Galaxy Watch looking more appealing now.

That is exactly what I went with. Enjoying them both quite a bit so far.

If I went with a Samsung watch, that's what I'd go with. For one, the Galaxy watch drops MST, which is one of the advantages Samsung watches have. IMHO removing MST makes it the same as any other smartwatch. I know there are more advantages when you pair a Samsung smartwatch with a Galaxy smartphone, but for anything else, there aren't as many advantages. The only one that springs to mind would be Samsung's hardware.

I have both the note 9 and the Galaxy watch. I haven't had a Samsung phone in a while because I typically like stock but man Samsung s did a good job with both the phone and watch. first time leaving wear os and it's nice not worrying about battery life all the time

Very interesting to hear. The Note 9 looks like a really great phone.

Never really been interested in smart watches and the rumoured Pixel watch was the only thing that made me consider it.

Now that I'm considering a Note 9, I might look into the Galaxy watch.

I too, really wanted a pixel watch... that was the only thing I wanted to get this year since I'm in need of a watch... now I don't know what to do... should I try the Galaxy watch or research the best wear os watch or get a Fitbit?

or just get a nice quality regular watch?

I purchased a Garmin VivoActive Music 3 a few months ago for running.

I find the text notifications an added benefit. The battery life is 3 to 4 days even on days when I run and am using GPS for those 'about an hour' jogs / walks (I do interval walk/runs - bad knee.). I'd recommend anyone check it out. I don't use the music feature but like the new look of it over the non-music version. It does look a bit like an apple watch that's round, fwiw.

Was thinking of going all android in with a Pixel watch, but now that's not happening with one not coming out. I bet it's because the chip isn't ready, yet, though it comes out this month.

Similar situation for me. I have a Garmin Forerunner 235. Bought it for running but wear it consistently because I like the notifications and well over a week's battery. Was ready to go all in on a Pixel Watch, but will now probably stay with my Garmin for another year.

I was and still am looking for another smart watch. Currently using lg urbane. It's slowly getting harder and harder to charge it but I've had it for over 2 years. Wouldn't hesitate to upgrade if given the chance.

For me app support is the most important. Samsung's high price of entry really makes it hard to get a good market going for it. So for me that's out the question.

I'll be happy with a LG urbane refresh. New processor. Replaceable band and heart rate. That's enough to keep me happy for another 2 years plus.

What do you mean by this? Is there some app you have to use on your watch that you don't think is available on the Galaxy Watch? I bought it and it's pretty great. Again, you may be looking for specific apps, and if so, that could be an issue. If not, you should check it out.

For starters, there is no Google Assistant or support for Google Play Music in Galaxy Watch. Galaxy Watch does not have the true WearOS integration and is going to lack direct support of apps and OS. Samsung overcomes a lot of OS support when you pair the watch with a Samsung device by using its app for default actions.

So it sounds like you need Google Assistant and GPM on your watch. I can understand that.

I love my lg watch. I don't know why I'd ever get a galaxy watch.

For starters I hate Bixby. I'm not careful with my watch and have broke a ton of bands. I use google assistant. No idea how but my watch screen has managed to still look new.

Nothing on my watch beyond google assistant is stock. And that's the beauty of it. With a little programming and some paid apps I've been able to really fine tune things to my needs.

I'm actually confused on why so many people don't like android wear. Minimal&elegant watch face really gets a lot of compliments. I've found all the stock ones to be gimmicky or boring.

I don't I think it is a matter of not wanting Android Wear. It's just that the Galaxy watches are very very nice and do everything I need them to do. I do not talk to my watch so I don't really care much about Assistant. I do have the Huawei watch also and I like that as well. Wear OS is fine.

I'm really reluctant going to Tizen. I kept reading it's best to have a Samsung to use the Galaxy watch.

I'm still waiting for a good Android Wear watch.

I took the money and went to buy myself a nice regular watch

The Gear S3 line and Tizen works fine with my Pixel 3 XL. Small issues here and there. The biggest one is if you upgrade OS sometimes the Gear is not compatible right away.

I am using an Apple Watch Series 4 now. I tried Wear OS and .. well .. yeah Google needs to do some work. I was hoping the Pixel Watch would be that shining light in the darkness but nope :(.

Google certainly has the background, $ and can buy the expertise to do this. Why not?
