I really want to switch to either on plus or maybe the next pixel model. I wanted the 6t but it had just came out after I replaced my LG G5 ThAt was giving me issues with a Moto X4. I didn't have feel like dumping more cash on a phone so soon. I'd like to have nicer device again not that the X4 is a pos it's quite decent for the price but not a flag ship device and even on Android one moto's security updates are getting less frequent.

How have you all adapted to not having sd card for extra storage and back up?

I have always kept my music files and photos on a card and backed up other things like contacts to the card.
I guess I'd use an on the go card reader to move it to one of these devices. Then use the same to make regular back ups of the files.

I wish it had a micro SD card slot... But you can buy a SSD and transfer files as needed. That's the biggest drawback for me with the OP7P. Otherwise, an amazing phone.

256gb is a lot of storage. unless I keep a movie library on my phone, I don't think I'll ever come close to filling it up.

Nope just photos and a about 50 or 60 gb of albums I ripped or purchased from Amazon mp3. A few documents too.

I really like the pixel phones. The 3a is a great deal but 64gb is going to be way too tight for me. 128 is close enough I'd come over half full. Have to agree I feel like 256 and no SD card would be ok.

I do have an on the go storage type SD card reader I have used with several Android phones I'm sure that can be used with it as a place to back up data off the phone. I already have the 128gb in my current phone to use with it.

Not something I'd carry with me but....

256GB is way more than enough for me. My last phone had 64GB with a 64GB SD card. so I still have double the storage. My photo's are backed up in google photo's and Microsoft onedrive. My music is already on my computer (also backed up to google).

I thought as well, that I will miss my SD card. But then, on my old phone, I had 64GB and a 128GB SD card.
Now I have 256GB.

Why would I miss anything? :D

If I really need to back up something, I'll do it via USB-C.
Oh and don't forget, you got OTG as well ;)

No sweat. The OP7P is easily one of the best phones out there. I'ld rather have wireless charging, then the SD card...

I'm not sure over the hype on wireless charging. I suppose it's faster now than the charging card on my Galaxy S5 was. That was slow as molasses in January and my would get on my nite stand and knock it off the pad. Not a winner when you wake up to a dead phone you thought was charging.

What's going to be the best way to get the SD card content in my current phone on my 7pro? Will the migration assistance let me move it or should I use the otg card reader?

Honestly for me...even 64gb is enough...i never had any issues with lack of storage but my mind keeps telling me to get the biggest option available.like i did with the 1TB S10 Plus...and i currently use the 256gb OP7 Pro and i see no issues.but thats just for me personally.

Two weeks in and happy so far. Love the phone. I don't feel like storage is even going to be an issue

Nope no random shutdowns at all from day one. They did have a patch for that several weeks ago. There have been like 3 software updates since me using this phone.
