AC Question

I dropped my phone (Galaxy S6 edge) in water, and as soon as I could I dried it off and put it in rice. It's been a week since then and my phone turns on now, with no visible sign that it was ever dropped in water.

However, the phone no longer detects my sim card - 'no service'. The sim works perfectly in other phones.

I'd like to know which part of the phone has been damaged and how much it may cost to get it fixed!

I'd also like to know if there's any way of finding out whether the water indicator has been tripped; the phones back doesn't come off, so I'd presume the answer is no - but just in case 😖

Well... guessing that the water indicator got wet... they usually stuff those things in areas where water will intrude first.... so if water did get inside the phone, it's triggered. And it sounds like water did get in there... the SIM slot is one of the most common places to receive water damage, and it sounds like that is precisely what happened.

As far as how much it costs, that depends on what got exposed. And the only way you'll be able to find that out is to get it repaired.
