no sim emergency calls only

Ok so here is my problem i bought my phone from mts a Samsung s4 filled the contract and switched to rogers and bought the unlock code from the carrier and it worked on rogers without unlock code. It worked for about 2 months on rogers now I get no sim with rogers sim but I have a mts sim from a s5 i bought from mts that's still on a plan and if I put it back in the s4 it works without a problem. Today I rooted the phone and unlocked via regionlockaway and it worked for about 10 minutes and went back to no sim. Tried the mts sim again and it worked for 2 hrs till the better half wanted her sim back lol now so I'm not sure if the phone is locking itself somehow but any help wound be welcome

And I forgot before anyone asks I have a 3rd phone on rogers a note 4 and the sim from the s4 does work in the note 4
