No Sound

Losing sound with whatever I'm doing on nexus 6p as soon as a notification comes through, running Android Nougat build 5, I have to clear everything in order to get sound back

Sounds like (excuse the pun) you should be discussing this in the Android 7.0 Nougat - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com since most of us normal people do not run an experimental/non-official version of the OS.

On the other hand, there are those of us who are running the Android 7 beta build on our Nexus 6Ps who would be glad to address that issue in our forum.

I've run both the preview 4 and 5 builds on mine and have not encountered that issue. Perhaps there's a 3rd party app causing the problem? You could try booting into Safe Mode and see what happens.
