No special external SD permissions on 5.0.1

I've been waiting on the edge of my seat since January for lollipop to come out so my apps can save to an external SD card. I just updated and I'm still getting the message kitkat gave that this version of android doesn't allow apps to save to ext sd. It doesn't ask for me to give permissions, it just doesn't let them.

BTW I have a galaxy s4 with at&t.

NextApp SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD (root) or any similar app (or you can change the file manually). It requires root, though, either way.

I can't root, it's a company phone, and lollipop was supposed to change this, I've even seen videos on YouTube showing how.

The most recent version of 5.0 does allows me to mount of a external SD card to my 2014 pure edition moto x. Maybe either samsung or your carrier have disabled this function b/c its not the OS thats doing it
