No Storage Device Detected In Linux?

I have been trying to connect my OTG external hard drive to my Nexus 10 tablet, but it automatically unmounts. I ran an OTG Troubleshoot, and it tells me that there is no storage device detected in Linux. I don't know a thing about this. Is there anyone who can help?

(From OP) No, I'm trying to open files. It unmounts the minute I connect it.
