No Text Sound Notification (Solved)

I have a new S10 and all notifications work as expected except for the Samsung text message app. I have checked the notification settings for that specific app, all is turned on, made sure the battery saver was not enabled, but still no text sound. I tried using Verizon message app, but still no sound. I get notification sounds for all other apps. Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central.

Are you using one of the in-built sounds for text messaging or your own custom tone? Have you tried using a different tone?

I am using default sounds that came with the phone and I tried switching sounds.

is the volume for Media turned up? There are multiple volume settings that are independent of each other.

Update (Still Not Working):
I have been trying different things and figured out that if I select a conversation and select custom notifications for that specific conversation then it will give me a sound notification. If I switch back to default sound then no more sound.
Again, I haven't added any sounds to my phone, everything I'm using is what came on my phone which is new.

What version of Android is your S10 running? Is it 9 or 10? The Android 10 updates are rolling out now.

Hi, have you tried clearing data,cache,data,force stop the stock message app see if was a glitch ?
