I have not gotten a security update since the end of August on AT&T. I sure hope that they have not forgot about us

The phone's over 2 years old. Update time is probably over. You got one in August, and the last one you would have gotten, if Samsung issued monthly updates (which they don't) would have been September.

If you want anything newer, look for custom ROMS. (Even LineageOS has nothing for it.)
