I'm having a real problem connecting my LG509 Optimus T to properly mate up to my Acer laptop. Using Windows XP Pro SP3, plenty of disk space, 1.5gB memory on an Acer Aspire 1522LMi. Connected the cable to the USB port and plugged in to the phone. I hear a very-rapid series of "dong-dong-dong"s -telling me it's tryng to connect but not connecting. In fact if I load up the LG driver/LG Support Tool prog, it insists that the phone is disconnected and refuses to install the USB driver. I've turned on/off USB debugging mode as well as tried both these two combinations with "Mass storage only" modes on and off. I've tried the three other USB ports on the laptop. I note that when unplugging the device or deselecting USB Mass Storage, I hear the normal (hi-lo) "ding-dong" of XP unmounting the device. I tested extensively and saw these exact same 4 ports work perfectly with my wireless mouse receiver, my external hard drive. With the phone plugged in (and not recognized) I see that Dev Mgr shows the LG Android USB device is an "Unknown Device". With Mass Storage Mode on, the LG Android USB device disappears and a new "drive" appears in Windows Explorer. I am able to transfer files via Windows Explorer with Mass Storage on. The Phone does successfully connect to my AMD Athlon Duo-Core desktop as one would normally expect for synching etc!
What should I be checking on the laptop to get this connection to properly work so I can do some synching and other tasks that need the driver to be installed and working?
