No Voicemail Notification

I haven't had a voice mail notification since I got this thing. Got my *** chewed by my boss's boss for not calling him back after he left a message telling me to do so. Sure enough, it was there, along with several other messages I didn't know about.

Is this just my phone, or are there others?

Posted via Tapatalk 2 quite possibly while I'm on the john with my DROID DNA

I have similar issue. Have Smartalk and an LG Rebel Android? .?

The widget with the same icon has the voicemail counter. I pressed the button with 6 dots on it, At top of screen select widgets. Slide to left if needed to locate Voicemail widget. I long pressed this voice mail widget and slid it left to my home screen. The counter is back!
For notification beeps right after they leave a message, press your Voice Mail widget, touch the 3 dots at upper right and select settings. Slide notifications switch to right to make it blue (on).

THANK YOU! This worked!!
Well folks. I hope this helps. I have a droid mini. The suggestions to call voicemail and press 4 then 1 do not work. The many other suggestions also did not work. I simply selected the voice mail app included with the phone and set up the app following the prompts. Access the apps by depressing the circle with six dots located in the center bottom of the main screen, then slide the screens left until you see the red icon named voice mail. There was an option to upgrade that appears to add costs to your bill. I declined that. Once the set up was complete, a red voicemail icon appeared on the phone that showed the quantity of unheard voicemails. One would think that this would be standard setup on any phone. I am not certain why tis is excluded. I wold think that missed calls, text messages, voice mails, then emails if applicable would be automatically set up.

Hey everyone,

I have been not receiving visual vm for some time and had tried also sorts of fixes but finally figured it out today. What worked for me was to go to settings off main page, then apps, then visual vm and low and behold there were all the notification buttons. I had gone in prior directly from the visual vm page/icon and had adjusting the settings before and that did not work, but going in from the general settings DID work. Hope this helps someone save a few hours of frustration!! ;)

None of these suggestions work. I found out last night that my voicemail was full. Thank goodness it was only spam calls. Tried ALL these suggestions (some irrelevant because the menu options given don't exist) and none work.

To the person who suggested drop box... no thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Keep in mind that you're responding to a pretty old thread for an ancient phone (the Droid DNA). Granted, others have talked about other phones, but it might be worth creating a new thread with your question, with specifics about which phone and which carrier you have, and what you've tried so far.
