Hi.
I've a Nokia 7 Plus running Android 8.1
Since buying this phone new 6 weeks ago I've been having problems running several apps....and this site, via WiFi. I receive a white page can't load/no connection message and even though there's no problems with connection the only way phone will display the webpages in to turn WiFi off and proceed on 4g. The Amazon shopping app was first to bring the problem up and since then there's been many times I'm having to use 4g rather than WiFi. Ok my 4g is faster than WiFi here but I'm now using all my data allowance at home! Anyone apart from me with this problem?

Have you tried changing the encryption in your router's wifi setup? Some phones, sometimes, don't handle particular encryption methods well, so you'll eventually see those pages, but it might take hours. Changing the encryption to something the phone can handle fixes that. (The Samsung Note 3 running 4.4.2, couldn't handle TKIP. It took about half an hour to load each picture in a Facebook deed, so if there were 5 pictures showing, it would be 2-1/2 hours to load something that should take a second or two. Switching to AES fixed the problem.)

I'm having the same issue in the UK. I am just moving from a Nokia 6 TA-1033 which doesn't have the issue

No, I was running it without a SIM for a while because I have another Nokia phone that I was testing.

Nothing special and no special apps either on the 7 Plus TA-1055

Still getting random drops of WiFi. Looks like an issue with mesh networks in 8.1.

I think this issue relates to mesh networks.

I run a BT Whole Home WiFi network with three nodes and the issue seems to be when the phone has been dormant for a while, connected to one of the nodes and you just start using it - normally in the morning. The WiFi drops a few times then becomes stable.

HMD Nokia really need to look into this issue as well as deliver security updates in the UK. We are still on the August patch. Our model is the TA-1055 00WW_2_22m.

I am now certain that the issue relates to mesh networks. I have now upgraded to Android Pie with December patch and it is actually worse now. Does anybody else have the same issue?

I have done a lot of work on looking into this issue and have now had it confirmed by Nokia support that there is an issue here with random drop on mesh WiFi networks.

Not good. 😭😎

1st step is to forget the network, then rediscover and sign in. If it persists, enter safe mode. If it still persists, probably a hardware defect. If it is loading fine, you have an app interfering. Good luck
