Sooo...
I rooted my Optimus S using Gingersnap. All was well, I downloaded a coouple of root related apps (No, NOT ROM Manager!) and decided I'd go to the forums before trying a different ROM, etc. Needed to charge the battery, so I shut the Optimus down, plugged into the wall wart and charged....
reboot...and...Nothin'! I get the LG screen, then the Sprint logo screen, which it hangs up on. Tried with the Sd card in and out, tried removing the battery for 8 + hours, still no boot.

I can get in the recovery mode, I did a data wipe and cache clear. Attempted to restore and the phone says it can't find thje proper command, etc.

There appears to be no update.zip on the SD card. I have downloaded the LG updater and it tells me my phone is up to date. (!) (This when plugging the phone into the PC's usb port.)
I'm guessing I need to install the updater (Or something) onto the SD card, using the PC, then have the phone update from there. (Update.zip?) Any help, or direction to the appropriate place is appreciated!
Thanks very much in advance! ( I'm a audio eng. and Electronics tech...Mebbe trade help?)

If your only choice is update.zip, then you have the stock recovery.

You will need to load a custom Recovery. See in post number 2 http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...optimus-s-recoveries-roms-kernels-themes.html

once you have a custom recovery, always make a nandroid backup, and you can load any of the custom roms in post 3. I use the Xionia recovery for all the roms available for the S.

Try installing via ADB commands or try the ez-installer here to load a custom recovery. http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...ty-will-root-install-custom-recovery-etc.html

Thank you very much, thekraven...I'll let everyone know how it works. Gotta go back to my shop, so it'll be later this evening before I have a chance.
Thanks again!!
