So I was hanging out with my friend the other day who has a blackberry. And he turned his phone of because people wouldnt stop calling him. But his alarm still went off even though his phone was off. I was wondering if an android could do this. Or is there a setting that I havent found yet that would turn that on.
Also how can you turn off the GPS symbol at the top of my screen.

I don't have a thunderbolt, however, if you want to turn your phone off and still have alarms, you could put your phone in "Airplane" mode. You will find that under Settings->Wireless and Networks

Also the GPS symbol usually shows up when you are using an app that uses GPS. It should go away when you navigate away from using it. If you want to totally turn GPS, you want to go to Settings->Location and Security and uncheck the boxes that say "Use Wireless Networks" and "Use GPS Satellites"

I am pretty sure when you use the power button on a bb it goes into a stand by/sleep mode and never really shuts fully down, the only way to fully shut a bb down is to pull the battery, thus the reason the alarm will still work

another noob question as this is my first android device and i am also coming from a bb storm2. my question is when you are in the app drawer is there any way to rearrange the icons i no on my bb i could click them and put them in any order i like, can the thunderbolt do this or is there an app that i can download that will let, thanks for the help

In the app drawer up can arrange them in alphabetical or install date. On your 7 home sceens you can move them around to your liking but in the drawer you are limited

When you turn off a BB, you turn it off... and as a old BB owner, they more than likely put their device into Standby mode, which does not turn it off.

You could turn your device into Silent mode... and in the settings of Alarms you can check the box for "Alarm in silent mode."
