As title states, I'm a noob to all things Android. (Background info for my device: android 2.2.1, 16GB SD Card, and using an Apple MacBook Pro with 10.6.8). I've been searching on here, and have found some great information, but i'm still a bit confused. I'm attempting to root my phone so I can move more stuff (apps, etc) onto my 16GB SD Card b/c my phone is constantly giving me the "low on space" message & its quite irritating.
Last night I downloaded the Gingersnap Root Utility for Mac and set out to get this dang phone rooted! Before starting, I enabled USB debugging per the instructions and I "rebooted" my phone (I held the top button until I got the option to power off, which I clicked; then after being off a few seconds I pushed the top button again to turn back on...is that the proper way to "reboot"?). I then connected the phone to my laptop and ran the Gingersnap Utility. **When I plugged in my phone it asked if I wanted to enable USB storage, and I said no...should I have said yes??**
Gingersnap finished, and then I went to the market & downloaded Titanium Backup (TB). When I tried to run TB it said my phone wasn't rooted! Please help!
If necessary, I have access to a PC running Win 7 that I can try instead of the MacBook Pro.
Thank you!
