Anyone else getting force close and unable to sync library messages? Wondering if this is only on my bolt

I haven't had any fcs with the nook app, but I don't really use it all too often. I just went on and synced my library and it's working fine.

hmmm. Are you in 3G or 4G area? I am in 4G, wonder if that makes a difference.

I'm in a 3G area, and I really think it does make a difference. When I was in a 4G area, Words with Friends crashed constantly. When I get back in a 3G area, it was more stable. Kind of weird...

I have been having fc problems for a while. When I try to open a book I uploaded to my phone, it fcs. Something weird, it works at night most of the time.

I live in a 4G area. Found an ebook that I wanted at B & N so I downloaded the app for my Thunderbolt and used it to buy the book. When I went to download it though, the app kept crashing. Did some research, found a post somewhere else that suggested using the WiFi option instead of 4G for downloading. Tried that, and the book downloaded just fine. Put the phone back on 4G and tried to read what I had just downloaded. The app would work for a bit and then crash. Decided to put the phone on airplane mode to see what would happen, and the app seemed to work just fine.

So for a 4G area, the answer seems to be: Use WiFi to download the book and either WiFi or the airplane mode while reading it. Not a perfect solution, but doable.

Nook is too much of a pain to use on my TB.

I have to sign in every time. (no auto log in?)
I have to download my books every time. (does not store them on SD card?)
Crashes, Force closes too much to be of any use.

Nook works great on my iPad - it's a waste of time on the Thunderbolt.

Kindle, on the other hand works perfectly on both Thunderbolt and iPad. I don't have to sign in every time I want to read a book, and my books don't have to be downloaded every time I open the app. GOOD JOB KINDLE......hey Nook, take a page from Kindle and get it right.

Well the Kindle app was preloaded on the phone, so I'm guessing Amazon made sure it worked properly with the new technology.

I wouldn't mess with Nook. It plain does not work on T-Bolt in 4G areas or WIFI (not sure about 3G). Kindle on the other hand is great! Lightening fast and battery use is moderate.

Noob Question,

If I had ebooks that I purchased from barnes and noble and I downloaded on nook using previous iphone4 can I download on kindle?

I seriously doubt it since the Nook is specifically tied to B&N and the Kindle is specifically tied to Amazon. That would be similar to taking a book you bought from Amazon to B&N and asking them to give you a refund on it. Ain't gonna happen.

As for which app is better on the Thunderbolt, the Kindle one wins hands down; and I prefer to use it. You don't have to fiddle with any settings to make it work; just click on it and it does its job. Unfortunately, the book I was wanting wasn't available in an eformat at Amazon so the Nook app it is for this one.

Thanks for the feedback TnT,

I'm going to go with kindle and just get my new ebooks downloaded through amazon.

Nevermind. I didn't realize this was an older thread and that I'd already responded to it.
