Would appreciate assistance or direction.please.
Been working for 2 weeks on installing on My Nook Color installed with Honeycomb.
I have it imaged on SDHC card and running on Nook. Problem installing Google Apps and Market.
Looks like I have ADB installed correctly in platform tools and in SDK folde.r I have USB folder with , I think, appropriate drivers.
When I connect and then go in device manager to find driver and get to "have disk" and find the "android_winusb" (located in SDK folder usb drivers) and located the bottom where says inf file is not highlighted. Therefore it will not install.
Newbie here, but looks like not recognizing as an inf file?
Seems like I am so close and now just a puzzle I am unable to solve.
Could you or someone assist? It would be much appreciated. I have tried all searches for resolution that I know of.
Thanks.

Does your PC recognize the NC as an Android device?

Try butterscotch(dot)com and do a search on Nook Color. If you're a total n00b, it might be helpful.

Huge thanks for responding!
Yes in Device manager it does say Nook on my PC. Again when I update driver and get to the "android_winusb" in the SDK folder in usb drivers, but it does not highlight and install. Hope that helps.
Yes it was because of butterscotch.com I bought the Nook and got this far. I have posted there numerous times with no response.

Advice appreciated, thanks agin.

NP, popeye.

Sadly, I can't remember what I did - exactly - to get mine working. It was three weeks of reading, messing around and then - miracle!

What I can tell you is that Windows XP seems to work the best of the Windows OS. (Of course, if you have a Mac, you're better off. Make sure your Mac is running at least 10.5 - Tiger won't work)

One thing that might help - boot nookie into android. On the nook/android settings, go to applications and make sure you have USB debugging checked (it will be green).

Reboot both computer and nook if you can't get anywhere. Sometimes that can help a lot.

There are several threads in this forum that deal with rooting and/or installing usb. You might want to also try nookdevs(dot)com as they have a bunch of links to drivers and instructions there.

Hope this helps a little. The thread on how to install Honeycomb to an SD card thread is very helpful also.

Good luck!

I know that when I was fighting with getting Honeycomb working on my Nook Color, I ended up using the Virtual XP machine on my Win7 laptop. Win7 wouldn't do it - period. Same steps in XP? Booting of SD card into Honeycomb on my Nook.

As for getting ADB running? That's a hit or miss thing at the best of times, it seems. :(

Yes, it is, Kinsfire. Like I said, it was nothing less than a miracle that I bumbled around and got it to work for me.

Try uninstalling then re-installing the USB driver. I remember doing that several times and trying different drivers until one worked.

Once you can get your PC to recognize the Nook as an Android device, you're home free. (Well, after burning the SD card and all that . . .) Instead of doing all of the "push" commands to push Vending and Google to the nook, I just installed HoneyGApps which installed marketplace.

This is how it worked for me:
Install HoneyGApps on your PC. Unzip it into your "platform-tools" folder.
Boot your nook to HC and plug it into the computer.
Go into your "platform-tools" folder and double click on "HoneyGApps.cmd". This should install Google maps, navigator, mail and the marketplace onto your nook.

Please forgive me if this sounds too n00b - it's the sort of directions I myself need.
