Long time contributor on the optimus v section and the cruz tablet section on slatedroid. I want to know all! So any suggestions?

All of them. :)

Load up CM7 soon as you get a chance. I got my NC 2 weeks ago and could only take the stock UI for 30 minutes before I through CM7 on it and now run MIUI.

Re: Nook color is on the way...any threads that I should be readi

Thanks. Is there any way I can do CM7 without rooting? I've seen it done off of SD card.

Re: Nook color is on the way...any threads that I should be readi

you can either buy an sd card and follow directions in these forums to get cm7 onto the card, or you can buy a nook2android card through amazon.

Simply put the micro sd card into the nook, boot it up, and you'll have a choice to boot to either cm7 or regular nook, no root required.

In a bit of irony, the card that Amazon is selling is now suffering from the same market woes as the regular CM7 installations. :-$

What market woes is that? Please let me know as I'm considering getting a NK and using the SD card boot method. I'm curious as I'm in the info gathering phase of my purchase. Thanks.

The issue is not jut with the nook in the market. It seems that the new market ubdate is more "device aware" and many of the apps that we have been using for quite some time have now been determined to not be compatible with the nook (they do notshow up in the market or if they do, there is no download button for them).
There is a worrkaround for now but Google is aware of the issue and they say they are working on a fix. As I said before, this is not just a problem for the nook. Acer, toshiba,Huawei forums are also reporting this problem.
The work around is not difficult so I would not worry about it. As for what you should read, start with the sticky sections then browse through each section of the forums. There is a world of information out there and, since it's free, suck up as much as you can.
You will find that the nook can be soo much more than the e reader it started out as. We have been blessed on this forum and several other forums with a great group of devs who spend their time making the nook the envy of others. My thanks go out daily to the devs who have done so much for our little tablet that could. :)
Enjoy your new nook.

I'm sorry but I cannot find the thread containing the workaround. Can you post a link?

Thanks.

Uninstall updates from the market in settings and then freeze the marketupdater.apk in Titanium backup.

Just ordered a refurb NookColor. I'm also going to root mine. Is CM7 the only rom available?

Its the only one worth installing.

agreed. i ave tried honeycomb and MIUI, but i keep on going back to CM7. app stability killed it for me on honeycomb and for MIUI, it isnt tablet optimized, so its not as intuitive.
