When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon. Make sure it's set to MTP (or possibly File Transfer). Then look for the device again in Windows Explorer.

Have you tried using other USB cables? Also, make sure you're plugging it into a native USB port on the computer, and not a hub.

See above

I tried doing an update on it and got nothing.

They think it's a bad tablet. I'm wondering if I got to buy one of their own darn usb cables. I know samsungs can act wonky at times and not work with other devices.

What happens if you right click the Unknown USB Device in the Device Manager? What options do you get? Is there an option to search for drivers?

I'll have to try again, but I did try updating and it done nothing. Pretty sure it would have searched for drivers then would be my guess.

It's probably bad hardware. I doubt RCA would require proprietary cables. RCA is essentially an off-brand these days, and their devices are probably sourced from some generic manufacturer in China.

I doubt it as well, but when I seen that they sold the USB cables on there that got me thinking that they just might. I'm going to get it replaced and if have the same issues as this one I got now then I'll just get my money back.

Has anyone found a way to connect this with USB Debugging turned on?

Support claims that you can choose "MTP USB Device" from "Portable Device" in the device drivers list, but I don't have that category in the list.
