"Not For Sale" sticker under battery

Im In UK and just bought a BNIB unbranded LG G4 from GAME uk...

Its a serial No: 505 and the assistant said it had just arrived from GAME haed office, so I assumed it was a Refurbished 505, which is fine, however, the OS version is:

VX10c-EUR-xx, rather than the standard "v10c..."

Looking under the battery though .. it says "Not for Sale" above the imei sticker and the IMEI on the phone does not match the retail Box it came in...

It wont update via OTA, it says "You are on the latest version of the OS" and LG Bridge "cant find a software update for your Phone", so I flashed v10b through.. LGUP Refurbish, which worked, but it still wont take an update via OTA or LG Bridge..

So I have flashed the latest v20h through LGUP and it does update all the apps in Update centre:

Could this be a EX-DEMO / EX-Display version.. and as it is a very early 505 model.... if so, should i return it..?

This does sound like an ex-demo handset and I'd return that **** immediately. It could also be a stolen handset from Europe and brought over to the UK.

Yeah I agree friend, my first thought was it was most likely stolen from a shop display, plus anyone can get hold of an empty box from ebay or a friend who works with phones... Agghh..

Is it worth me contacting LG support directly and mentioning GAME to see if i can get LG to send me a new G4, or just take it back to GAME

I'd take it back to Game as they hold the responsibility. If they refuse a return I'd say that you suspect the handset to be stolen. I doubt they'll want that publicity.

Will do... ive "Refurbished" it back to v10b... but it wont even let me do an ""error recovery" through LGBridge.. It just says "No Available Software , contact LG Customer service"

So, ill just return it tomorrow... You know Im sure under the sales of Goods act... I can ask for a refund for my travel expenses, because Im just so annoyed about this.. someone will know about this "DEMO" G4 in Game and yet theyve still stocked it... it should never have been sold..

Tool it back and GAME were really good about it... full of sorrys and apologies, which was actually nice for a change... instead of having to verbally fight them, as I have had to do in the past with "other" uk trade-in shops.... full refund.. but sadly they had no G4s in the area .. so I got a Nexus 6P instead, so ill be headfing over to the 6P forums

I wanted to let you know because not every store or sales assistant are a**es, just the indie ones are
