Not getting emails on time.

Hello everyone. I used to have a blackberry and used to get emails right away (sometimes before they appear on my pc) for my work email address. My hotmail and gmail accounts work ok. If have outlook open at work I never even get work emails on my phone. The only way to get it is to turn off my pc before I head home. That's bad cause If I forget to turn it off and an important email comes through I won't see it until the next day! IS there a fix for this at all?
